Galaxy FBO hosted Baldwin Safety & Compliance’s Practical Safety Management System Training at the Houston William P. Hobby Airport.
Baldwin Safety & Compliance provide programs, services and training built around aviation safety to help flight departments and fixed based operations meet regulatory compliance requirements. Jason Starke, Ph.D., Director of Safety & Product Development for Baldwin provided a two-day, in-person course designed to review and convert aviation safety theory into practical applications and overviewed SMS structure. Galaxy FBO leadership and management from all three locations; KCXO, KHOU and KADS attended this special safety training.
While Federal Aviation Administration doesn’t require Safety Management System for fixed base operations, Galaxy FBO has successfully implemented its own SMS to be proactive. Having a strong safety culture enables Galaxy team to avoid possible problems and help solve potential troubles. SMS helps build strong mitigation barrier to prevent hazards, and evaluate the barriers created to ensure they are working. This guides our policies, procedures, training, of how we operate.
